Speed Training

One of the most important attributes of athleticism is speed.  It can differentiate good players from great players, and it’s one of the most sought-after abilities on the playing field—regardless of the sport.

Speed training drills must be learned correctly and practiced constantly to truly enhance your speed.  You need to perform drills that enhance the four basic components of speed training: Stride Length, Stride Frequency, Acceleration and Speed Endurance.

SpeedDoctorz2 uses resistance bands to improve our athletes flexibility, speed, agility, and vertical jump.  A variety of training techniques are used to develop the overall “explosive athlete“ as well. This may include, but is not limited to: plyometrics, resisted running, over speed training, agility drills, core strengthening and balance training.  We use the 20yd dash, pro agility, and vertical jump tests to measure progress.  We will always use the latest research from reputable sources when designing our programs.

Our classes are held in a group style.  However, we do offer team and one-on-one training for speed and agility, strength training, nutrition and supplementation.

If your athlete is ready to train in a group setting that is fast paced, we start training them from age 10 years and up. A beginner class is held one day a week for those athletes aged 6 – 12 years. The beginner class is for those youth who need to be taught how to accelerate, decelerate, and change directions properly before being transitioned to the more advanced class.
